The POWER of Facebook
Ok so I might be a Millennial which means I basically grew up with Facebook. My entire ‘coming of age’ was published on social media (you’re welcome to all you lucky folks who got to see my awkward stage in real time). While I was growing up, so was Facebook. Facebook was constantly changing and evolving. Kinks were being worked out and small issues were always being addressed. I was one of many users who was outraged every few months when something changed on Facebook. "What! They can’t just move the Home button to the other side, who do they think they are?” These were serious issues 7 years ago.
As I sit here blasting Annie Lennox (after her Grammy performance, wow!) I have to hand it to FB, the kinks have certainly been worked out and it has become an incredibly powerful business tool. Designing different Facebook Ads, Contests, Fan Building Campaigns, etc has proven to not only be wildly successful when it comes to driving website traffic and brand engagement, but it is also user friendly! I have new found respect for Facebook and how far it has come. Every business needs to be present and active on Facebook!
**My favorite new trick for using Facebook as a marketing tool is the Custom Audience Pixel for your Website. This allows Facebook to create a specific audience for an Ad based on people who visited your website and took certain actions. For example you can capture the people you went to your site but did not purchase anything, or did not sign up for your newsletter, or only made it to your home page. You set the parameters and Facebook does the rest! LOVE IT!**
